Other Contracts

In addition to the contract with the Department of Developmental Services to provide Regional Center
services, the Corporation administers additional projects.
These contracts are:

 

Medically Vulnerable Infant Program (MVIP)

The Medically Vulnerable Infant Program is funded through a contract with the Department of Health Services, Maternal and Child Branch, State of California. The program assures basic follow-up procedures and intervention for infants considered at risk for developmental disabilities. The San Diego and Imperial County Health Departments participate in this project under sub-contractual agreements.

 

Metabolic Disorders Clinic

The Metabolic Disorders Clinic provides diagnosis, counseling, medical management, and ongoing follow-up for persons with inborn errors of metabolism, including PKU, galactosemia, and variants of these disorders. The goal of the Clinic is to prevent disabilities through prompt diagnosis and effective management of metabolic disorders. The clinic team includes staff representing various disciplines including medicine, nursing, nutrition, psychology, and social work.
