Stories of Success
The Foundation for Developmental Disabilities supports job creation and microenterprise to benefit persons with developmental disabilities. The Foundation provided financial support for a new coffee cart business which now employs Jami and Jacob (pictured left). Both Jami and Jacob were instrumental in the start up of the business and are now carrying out their dream. Stop by and enjoy a coffee creation at 4355 Ruffin Rd., San Diego (92123).
"Businesses like this give people with disabilities the opportunity to run their own business and work to overcome the social stigma that we can't be productive. I was part of this from the inception. It felt good to think up the name and design the logo. Working here has definitely shown me what it takes to run your own business."

"I was jumping for joy and so happy to work here. For me, working here has made my life a 360 from bad to good. It makes me feel like I'm helping others and it brightens my day."
- Jacob
