The San Diego-Imperial Counties
Developmental Services Foundation (also known as the Foundation for
Developmental Disabilities) was established in 1986 as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit
corporation. The mission of the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities is to
raise and distribute funds to provide services and supports to benefit people
with developmental disabilities, and their families when funds are not available
from public or private resources.
The Board of Directors of the Foundation for
Developmental Disabilities is comprised of dedicated members who generously give
their time and talents to create opportunities that otherwise would not be
available in the community. These opportunities include assistance for persons
with developmental disabilities to attend conferences on self-advocacy;
assistance for parents to obtain valuable information to provide care for their
children with disabilities; scholarships from the Peterson Scholarship Endowment
Fund to university students pursuing careers in the field of child development
or developmental disabilities; and, funds from the Foundation's Help Fund for
one-time emergency assistance for individuals when no other resources were
available.
The efforts of the Foundation for Developmental
Disabilities are supported by the contributions and bequeaths of corporations,
businesses, and people throughout Imperial and San Diego counties.
Your tax-exempt contribution will touch the lives of
people with developmental disabilities and their families when no other
resources are available to them. Can you help? Click the "How You Can
