Dear Residential Services Providers,

As you are aware, the COVID-19 pandemic is growing in San Diego and Imperial counties. The San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) has been notified of a client who tested positive for COVID-19 after he visited his family’s home over a weekend. It is imperative that all visits from residential homes to family homes be suspended at this time. We are asking that residential services providers provide alternative methods to maintain contact with families and loved ones such as Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, etc. Families will also be asked to cooperative and to not take the clients home.

This request is for residential service providers only and is supported by the Governor’s and San Diego County’s orders to Stay at Home and Shelter in Place, directives from the Department of Developmental Services, and recommendations from Community Care Licensing.

This does not apply to respite services providers.

In the interest of the safety and health of our clients, your staff, and the community at large, we implore you to follow the Stay at Home orders.  Thank you.

Carlos Flores
Executive Director
San Diego Regional Center
